2001 marked the last production year for the beloved XJ Cherokee. The Cherokee name will be retired in the United States, and the third generation successor to the FSJ will be called the Liberty. Whether it's ugly bug-eyed face or independent front suspension will lead to its doom, only time will tell....

I had the opportunity to find a new KJ Liberty at Phillips Jeep and pulled its Granddaddy Chief up next to it for some fun comparison shots. The differences and similarities are striking.
